How Pokk works
Everything about the address maker in one place, in plain words.
Random keys, chosen ends
A Solana address is the public half of an ed25519 key, written in base58. Keys are random, so no one can pick an address first and work back to its key. What you can do is make keys until one happens to fit: we call that grinding.
Pokk grinds in your browser with several background threads, shows the odds before you begin, checks the result, and lets you save it.
What happens when you press start
- Pick the ends. The coin address tab is for a pump.fun mint, the wallet tab for a personal address. Give a start, an end or both, like
Gm…Sun, or only an end such as…pump. - Threads start working. Each thread makes keys with Web Crypto or tweetnacl, whichever is faster on your device, and tests every address against your pattern.
- The match is re-checked. The page rebuilds the public key from the seed with a second library and compares it again before anything is shown.
- You save it. Download the Solana CLI keypair file or reveal the base58 secret for a wallet import. Nothing is kept after the tab closes.
The odds formula
A 32-byte key written in base58 is 43 or 44 characters long. An ending is the remainder after dividing by 58 for each character, so every exact ending character costs exactly 58 times more keys. A start is decided by the size of the number: the first character of a 44-character address can only take about twenty values, from 2 to 9 and A to M, which is why starts beginning with those are much cheaper. Pokk counts the matching key ranges for each possible length and adds every capital variant when capitals do not matter.
Each search is independent. Half of all searches finish within about 69% of the mean key count, and one in ten runs past 2.3 times the average. The progress bar shows the chance that a search of the current length would already have found a match.
Questions
What is Pokk?
Pokk is a free Solana vanity address generator. You choose how an address should begin, end, or both, and your own browser keeps making keys until one fits. It works for the mint address of a pump.fun coin and for an ordinary wallet.
Does Pokk ever see my private key?
No. Keys are created by background threads inside the tab you have open. The site has no endpoint that accepts a key, nothing is uploaded, and the result is erased when you close or reload the tab unless you save the key file yourself.
Can my coin address finish with pump, the way pump.fun addresses do?
Yes. Tick the pump ending and the search asks for a lower-case pump at the end on top of your start. Each extra character multiplies the work by about 58, so keep the start short when you want both.
Will a chosen address change how my coin behaves?
No. The address is only the public name of the mint. Supply, authorities, the bonding curve and fees are set by the program that creates the coin, exactly as for a random address.
Could another person use my address for their coin?
Only someone who holds the key. A coin address can be created once, by whoever signs with that key first. Save the file somewhere private, never paste the secret into a chat, and launch soon after you find it.
How do I buy $POKK?
$POKK is not trading yet. When it launches, its address appears in the header, the footer and on the token page, and the trade button there opens the coin on pump.fun. Always check the full address before you buy.
Which network is Pokk on?
Solana mainnet. Addresses made here work in Phantom, Solflare, Backpack and the Solana command line, and coin addresses can be used as the mint for a new pump.fun coin.
Is Pokk audited?
Not yet. Pokk runs no on-chain program and holds no funds, so there is no contract to audit. The key maker is open to read in your browser's developer tools, and the results check themselves before they appear.
Why is my word taking so long?
Every character you add multiplies the work by roughly 58 when capitals must be exact, and by roughly 29 when any capitals count. Five exact characters already take hundreds of millions of keys on average. Shorter words, any capitals, and a first letter between A and H all help.
Which characters can I use?
Solana addresses use base58: the digits 1 to 9 and every letter except capital O, capital I and lower-case l. The digit 0 never appears. The form tells you as you type when a character is impossible.
What file do I get?
A JSON file in the same layout the Solana command line uses: 64 numbers, the secret seed followed by the public key. You can also reveal the secret as one base58 string, which wallets such as Phantom accept under Import private key.
Must the tab stay open?
Yes. The search runs only while the tab is open. You can switch to other tabs; allow notifications and the browser will tell you when the address is found.
Does it cost anything?
No. Pokk charges nothing for addresses. The only cost is your computer's time and power. Launching a coin on pump.fun has its own network and creation fees, paid from your wallet to the network and to pump.fun.
