Flags worth knowing
# A chosen beginning
solana-keygen grind --starts-with Pokk:1
# A chosen finish
solana-keygen grind --ends-with Sun:1
# Both at once
solana-keygen grind --starts-and-ends-with Gm:Sun:1
# Capitals ignored, quicker
solana-keygen grind --starts-with pokk:1 --ignore-case
# Fewer CPU threads
solana-keygen grind --starts-with Pokk:1 --num-threads 4The trailing :1 tells it to stop after one match; raise it to collect several.
Running it
- Install the Solana tools. Follow the official install guide for your system, then check with solana --version.
- Run the command. It uses every CPU core by default and prints progress. --num-threads limits it.
- Find the file. It writes ADDRESS.json in the current folder. That file is the key; solana-keygen pubkey ADDRESS.json prints the address.
When the terminal is too slow
Past four or five letters a laptop can run for hours. Loosen the pattern first: allow any capitals, shorten the ending, or start with a capital between A and H. You can also run the same search in your browser with the address maker, which shows its own speed and odds as it goes.
